Tabitha Green

What is it about Pilates that keeps you committed and passionate?

The way Pilates can transform how we live our life and continues to do so. Just remembering to breathe, for example, calms my mind and readies my body for exercise and the day ahead.

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not teaching at Frog Temple?

I enjoy attending dance & theater performances. I love spending time with friends exploring different neighborhoods in Chicago and trying new restaurants. I hone my Ninja skills. Try to keep my cool about becoming a mother and wondering if I’m going to become my mother! Hang out and chill with my hubby. I am also trying to learn how to cook without burning my entrees and smoking the oven… Here is the dorky truth, I read Anatomy books.

What is the best thing about Chicago, in your opinion?

The food and people. I love all of, or most of, the restaurants from mom & pop shops to the fancy upscale places.

What is your 2012 New Year’s Resolution?

I don’t have a New Year’s resolution, rather I keep on-going goals. My current goal is to meditate for 15 minutes each day and live from a more meditative state. All preparations for motherhood.

Do you prefer to eat out or at home-and why? Favorite restaurant/meal?

Being pregnant, I like to get what I want and order in. I do it a lot because I’m better at blending a kale smoothie than cooking dinner.

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

It depends on the time of year. In the winter, I love the Islands. In the summer, I love cultural vacations. I just got a little of both in St. Martin for a “babymoon.”

What is the most impactful advice you have heard about health and exercise?

To listen to your body. I’m still learning how to listen.
